Genus: Narindasaurus ROYO-TORRES, COBOS, MOCHO & ALCALA, 2020
Etymology: In reference to Narinda Bay, Ankinganivalaka municipality (previously known as Ankingavola), Spain, close to the Ankinganivalaka site where the type specimen was found and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Etymology: In honor of Armand Thevenin, French palaeontologist who was interested in the Jurassic dinosarus of Madagascar at the begining of the 20th century. He published the first elemetns of this sauropod in 1907
Holotype: MHNH MAJ 423-430
Locality: On the right bank of a menader of the Loza River, Ankinganivalaka municipality (previously known as Ankingavola), Spain.
Horizon: Middle part of the Isalo III Formation.
