Etymology: In reference to Mongolia, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: Z. Pal. No. MgD-I/9

Locality: Nemegt, Nemegt Basin, Ömnögov (South Gobi), Mongolia.

Horizon: Nemegt Formation.

Biostratigraphy: Tarbosaurus bataar (MALEYEV), Saurolophus angusitrostris ROZHDESTVENSKY and Dyoplosaurus giganteus MALEYEV Zone.

Age: Lower Maastrichtian Stage, Uppermost Senonian, Uppermost Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Nearly complete skull and lower jaw.
