Genus: Ngwevu CHAPELLE, BARRETT, BOTHA & CHOINIERE, 2019
Etymology:
Xhosa, ngwevu, "grey." Pronounced 'Ng-g' where-voo. In reference to affectionate nickname, 'grey skull, ' that had been given to PB/1/4779 by many of the scientist who worked on it previously.

Etymology: Xhosa, intoloko, "head." Pronounced in-tloh-koh.
Holotype: BP/1/4779
Locality: Tevrede (1077) Farm, Fouriesberg Districe, Free State, South Africa.
Horizon: Uppermost Upper Elliot Formation, Stormberg Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Hettangian-Lower Sinemurian Stage, Lower Lias Epoch, Early Jurassic.
Material: Skull and a partially complete skeleton.
