Genus: Petrustitan DIEZ DIAZ, MANNION, CSIKI-SAVA & UPCHURCH, 2025
Etymology: Greek, petra, 'stone, rock" and Greek, titan, Greek giants": alluding both to the place of its type locality, Sanpetru (a shorthand for Saint Peter, in Romanian) village in the cetnral Hateg Basin, as well as the origin of the holotype, comeing from the rocky outcrops of the Sinpetru Formation exposed in this area.
