Genus: Qingxiusaurus MO, HUANG, ZHAO, WANG, & XU, 2008
Etymology: Qingxiu for 'Shanqingshuixiu" (pinyn), means "a picturesque senery
of mountains and water in Guanxi", and Greek, sauros, "lizard."
Species: youjiangensis MO, HUANG, ZHAO, WANG & XU, 2008
Etymology: In reference to the Youjiang river, Guangzi Zhuang Autonomous
Region, China where the specimen was excavated.
Holotype: NHMG 8499
Locality: Dashi Village, suburb of Nanning City, Guangzi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China.
Horizon: Red Beds.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Late Cretaceous.
Material: Cranial caudal neural spine, nearly complete paired setern plates and both humeri.
