Etymology: Milcayac, the language used by the people who inhabited the region
of Mendoza, Quetec, "fire" and Greek, sauros, "lizard."
Species: rusconii GONZALEZ RIGA & DAVID, 2014
Etymology: In honor of Carlos Rusconi (1898-1969), a naturalist who worked extensively
in Mendoza Province and was Director of the Museum of Natural Sciences "Juan
Cornelio Moyano".
Holotype: UNCUYO-LD-300
Locality: Canada del Pichanal section, Malargue Department, Mendoza Province, Argentina.
Horizon: Uppermost levels of the Cerro Lisandro Formation, Neuquen Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Cenomanian Stage, Upper Gallic Subepoch, Lowermost Gulf Epoch, Middle Cretaceous¬-Turonian Stage, upper Gallic subepoch, lower Gulf Epoch, Early Late Cretaceous.
Material: Postorbital, 2 teeth, atlas, 1 posteior cervical vertebra, 1 incomplete anterior doral vertebra, 1 anterior caudal centrum, 8 dorsal ribs, a coracoid, an incomplete humerus, distal fragmetns of a radius and ulna, and 5 metacarpals.
