Etymology: In reference to Siberia, where the specimen was found, and Greek, titan, from the giants of Greek
Myths.

Etymology: Greek, astro, "star," and Latin, os sacrum, "sacred bone," an allusion to the unusual configuration of sacral ribs which radiate, in dorsal view, from the middle of the sacrum as the rays of a star.

Locality: Shestakovo 1 vertebrate locality, Kemerovo (Oblast) Province, Western Siberia, Asian Russia.
