Etymology: Latin, sider, "star," and Greek, saura, "lizard." In allusion to the stellate shpae of the middle to posterior haemal arches.

Locality: 'Barda Atravesada de Las Campanas' locality in the proximity from Villa El Chocon, Neuquen Province, Patagaonia, Argentina.
Horizon: Huincul Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Upper Cenomanian-Early Turonian Stage, Late Gallic Subepoch, Early Gulf Epoch, Middle Cretaceous.
Material: Braincase with fused skull roof and neurocranium lateral wall, middle- to posterior dorsal neural spine, fragment of middle to posterior dorsal neural arch, 14 caudal vertebrae, 5 haemal arches, a fragment of left scapula, pubic peduncle, both tibiae, both distal fibulae, both metatarsals I, proximal left metatarsal II and III, distal right metatarsal II, III, IV, and left distal metatarsal V, both phalanges I-1, both phalanges I-2, right phalange I-3, and left ungual phalanages 1 and 3.
