Genus: Tastavinsaurus CANUDO, ROYO-TORRES & CUENCA-BESCOS, 2008
Etymology: Catalan word Tastavin, meaing "wine taster", a word that also lends its name to the Tastavins River, in which in turn gets its name to the village, Penarroya de Tastavins, where the fossils were found, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Age: Early Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: 3 dorsal vertebrae, fragmentary sacral region, 25 caudal vertebrae and 21 chevrons, ilia, pubi, ischia, femora, right tibia, right fibula, 5 right metatarsals, 1 left metatarsal, 7 phalanges, frragments of ribs and costal sternals.
