Etymology: From Tangri, the primary chief deity in Mongolian-Turkish mythology, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Etymology: In honor of Alexey Starkov for his generous assistance and contribution to the study of Early Cretaceous vertebrates of Transbaikalia.

Locality: Mogoito, near Guisinoe Lake, Buryatia, western Transbaikalia, Asian Russia.

Horizon: Mogoito Member, Murtoi Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Early Cretaceous Epoch-Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Anterior caudal vertebra.
