Genus: Udelartitan SOTO, CARBALLIDO, LANGER, JUNIOR, MONTENEGRO & PEREA, 2024
Etymology: The genus nmae derives from UdelaR, acronym of the Universidad de la Republica, and Greek, titan, Greek mythology of giants, a common suffix of titanosaur names.

Spanish, celeste "sky-blue", the nickname of Uruguayan teams in international sport competitions.
Holotype: FC-DPV 3595
Locality: 20 km SE of Quebracho town, 31°58'21.9"S, 57°44'00.9"W, Payasandu Province, Uruguay.
Horizon: Guichon Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Cenomanian Stage, Uppermiddle Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Middle Cretaceous.
Material: Caudal vertebrae 1 to 3.
Referred material:
FC-DPV 1900: 60 caudal vertebrae (all strongly procoelous), a partial coracoid, long bone, fragments (distal an dproximal portions, proximal fibular portion, 6 metatarsals and 2 astragali. Note: Originally listed as Saltasauridae gen. sp indet (SOTO, PEREA & CAMBIASO, 2012).
