Etymology: In reference to Shanshan, Xinjiang Province, China, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: SSV12001

Locality: Shanshan, Xinjiang Province, China.

Horizon: Qigu Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Middle Jurassic.

Material: 2 cervical vertebrae, cervical ribs, complete dorsal series, 5 sacrals and 2 caudals, left femur, left tibia, left fibula, left metatarsal, right ischium and right pubis.
