Genus: Alpkarakush RAUHUT, BAKIROV, WINGS, FERNANDES & HÜBNER, 2024
Etymology: Named after Alpkarakush, amythological large bird that often comes to the help of heroes in critical moments in the 'Manas' epos, one of teh central mythological elements in Kyrgyz culture (Seiilbek et al, 2018).

Etymology: In reference to the Kyrgyz Republic, the provenance of the type specimen.

Holotype: IGB 2-

Locality: Locality FTU-1, just west of the town of Tashkumyr, Jalal-Abad Oblast, Kyrgyszstan.

Horizon: Balabansai Formation.

Age: Callovian Stage, Dogger Epoch, Middle Jurassic.
