Genus: Archaeornithoides ELZANOWSKI & WELLNHOFER, 1992
Etymology: Archaeornis (ancient bird), a junior synonym of Archaeopteryx and Greek, oides, "resembling, like."

Species: deinosauriscus ELZANOWSKI & WELLNHOFER, 1992
Etymology: Deinosauriscus, a little dinosaur.

Holotype: ZPAL MgD-II/29

Locality: Bayan Zag (= Bayn Dzak, Shabarakh Usu GILMORE, 1943), Ömnögov (South Gobi), Mongolia.

Horizon: Djadochta Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Middle Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary dentary.

Note: Chiappe (pers. comm.) believe this is actually a juvenile Velociraptor.
