Etymology: Latin, arco, referring to the basin of the Arc river, where the specimen was found, and Latin, venator, "hunter."

Etymology: The species name honours the motorway company ESCOTA which has funded the exavations at the locality since 2006

Holotype: MHNA-PV-2011.12

Locality: Jas Neuf Sud locality, along the A8 motorway near the village of Pourrieres, Var Department, France.

Horizon: Lower Argiles Rutilantes Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Lower Rognacian, Late Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
