Genus: Arkansasaurus HUNT & QUINN, 2018
Etymology: In refrence to the state of Arkansas where the specimen was discovered, and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Note: The name Arkansaurus fridayi was first used in a newspaper article (1972).

Etymology: In honor of Joe B. Friday, who discovered the specimen in 1972.

Locality: Friday Site, near Lockesburg, Sevier County, Arkansas.

Horizon: Trinty Strata, Glen Rose Formation.

Age: Albian-Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic subepoch, Earliest Gulf Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Right metatarsals, phalanges and unguals.
