Etymology: Latin, grandis, "full-grown, grown up, large"; in reference to large size of this taxon.

Holotype: FRDC-GS GI (06) 01-18

Locality: White Ghost Castel field Area, Yujingzi Basin, Gansu Province, China.

Horizon: Xinmipu Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian-Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Middle Cretaceous.

Material: Assoicated postcranial skeleton.

Referred material:

FRDC-GS GJ (unnumbered): Hindlimb of a large specimen.

FRDC-GS JB (07)01-01: A pair of isolated pubes.
