Holotype: LPM 0200 and LPM 0201 (part and counterpart)
Locality: Shangheshou, Chaoyang City, Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Horizon IV, Upper Jiufotang Formation, Upper Jehol Group.
Biostratigraphy: Pistacosaurus fauna, Cathayornis-Chaoyanga Avifauna.
Age: Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: A complete specimen with feather impressions with asymmetrical flight feathers on its wings.
Referred material:
LPM 0159: A single slab containing an incomplete skeleton lacking the skull, cervicals and caudals with feather impressions.
Number: Not given: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary skeleton.
Note: Found on the same slab as Omnivoropteryx sinousaorum.
