Etymology: Malagsay, tokana, "lonely": in references the organism's isloation on the landmass of Indo-Madagasar.

Holotype: UA 9855

Locality: Near Ampandriambengy, Antsiranana Province, within the Diego (Ambilobe) basin of northernmost Madagascar.

Horizon: "Ambolafotsy Formation".

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Turonian Stage, Uppermost Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: A partial axial column, including cervical vertebra C?5, dorsal vertbrae D?1, D?2, D?6, D?7, complete left dorsal rib (DR?2), capitual of two right dorsal ribs, proximal ends of two dorsal ribs, and other rib fragments.
