Etymology: Greek, eo-, "dawn" from the genus name of the Egyptian vulture, and Neophron, sometimes referred to as the "pharoh's chicken"

Etymology: Latin, infernal, "Hell", in reference to the Hell Creek Formaton. Togehter the taxon name erquates to "Pharaoh's dawn chicken from Hell."

Holotype: CM 96525

Locality: Unknown, Meade County, South Dakota.

Horizon: Upper Hell Creek Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Lancian age, Upper Maastrichtian Stage, Late Senonian Subepoch, Late Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Partial hindlimb including right femur, right tibia and astragalocalcaneum, a right metatarsal III, and a right metatarsal IV.
