Etymology: Greek, epidexi, "display" and Greek, pteryx, "wing, feather."
Species: hui ZHANG, ZHOU, XU, WANG & SULLIVAN, 2008
Etymology: In honor of the late young palaeontologist Yaoming Hu, who contributed
significantly to the study of Mesozoic mammals from China.
Holotype: IVPP V 1547
Locality: Daohugou, Ningcheng County, East of Nei Mongol, Inner Mongolia.
Horizon: Jiulongshan Formation (Daohugou Formation?).
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Upper Bathonian Stage, upper middle Dogger Epoch, Middle Jurassic.
Material: Skull and nearly complete skeleton.
Note: Has feather impressions on the body and 4 long tail feathers.
