Genus: Guemesia AGNOLIN, CERRONI, SCANFERLA, GOSWAMI, PAULINA-CARABAJAL, HALLIDAY, CUFF & REUIL, 2022
Etymology: In honor of General Martin Miguel de Güemes, who was both Governor and a military leader who defended northwestern Argentina during the War of Independance. The year 2021 has been declared as "the bicentenary of the death of Genral Güemes" by the Senate of the Argentine Nation.

Etymology: In honro of Janvier Ochoa, technician of the Museo Regional "Florentino Ameghino," Rio Tercerocity (Cordoba province, Argentina) who has worked extensively in Cretaceous outcrops of Northwestern Argentina and discovered in the specimen here described.

Holotype: IBIGEO-P 103

Locality: South part of the Amblayo valley, close to Amblayo town, 24°50'20"S, 65°23'12"W, San Carlos department, Salta Province, Patagonia, Argentina.

Horizon: Los Blanquitos Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Campanian-Maastrichtian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: An almost complete braincase with parietals, frontals, supraoccipital, basioccipital, exoccipital-opisthotic complex, basisphenoid-parasphenoid, prootics, laterosphenoids, and orbitosphenoids.
