Etymology:
In honor of Ms Fanggang Teng, who secured the specimen for the study.
Note: The authors incorrectly coined the species name with an 'i', this is a masculine tense, the feminine tense is -ae, or -ii, -iae, and is here in emended to tengae.
Holotype: DLXH 1218
Locality: Baicai Gou, Yixian County, Western Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Yixian Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Lower Cretaceous.
Material: A nearly complete skeleton with assocaited feathers.
