Genus: Juratyrant BRUSATTE & BENSON, 2013
Etymology: "Jura" referes to the Jurassic age of the taxon and "tyrant" is
an Anglicized version of the Greek "tyrannos" and Latin "Tyrannus," in reerence
to the vernacular characterization of tyrannosauroids as "Tyrannt dinosaurs"
(based on the origintal etymology of Tyrannosaurus rex).

Etymology: In honor of Peter Langham of Bridgport, Dorset, who cllected the
specimen.
Holotype: OUMNH J.3311-1-J.3311-30
Locality: 6 miles west of Swanage between Rope Lake Head and Freshwater Steps, Dorset County, England, Southern United Kingdom.
Horizon: Kimmeridge Clay.
Note: Marine deposit.
Biostratigraphy: Pectinatites pectinatus ammonite zone, P. eatlecottensis sub-zone.
Age: Lower Tithonian Stage, Upper Malm Epoch, Late Jurassic.
Material: Fragmentary skeleton.
