Etymology: Andesi, because of the proximity of the fossil locality to the Cordillera
de los Andes.
Holotype: MACN-N 42
Locality: La Amarga, 70 km S of Zapala, Neuquen Province, Argentina.
Horizon: Lower section of the La Amarga Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Amargan Tetrapod Assemblage, Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch-Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: Femur, ilium, pubis, phalange, neural arch of a cervical, neural arch of a dorsal, and caudal vertebrae.
