Etymology: Latin, inextricabilis, "impossible to extricate"; in reference to the specimens' inferred death in a mire.

Locality:Wucaiwan area, Junggar Basin, Xinjiang Uihgur Autonomous Region, Western China.

Horizon: Upper part of the Shishugou Formation.

Material: Skull and skeleton.
