Etymology: The eneric name derives from 'Linhe' (area of origin) and Latin,
venator, 'hunter'.

Etymology: In honor of Prof. Tan Lin for his contributions to the field of
vertebrate paleontology of Inner Mongolia.
Holotype: LH V0021
Locality: "North Canyon" locality, Wulatehougi, Bayan Mandahu, Urad Houqi, Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongolia), China.
Horizon: Wulansuhai Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Campanian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.
Material: A partly articulated partial skeleton comprising the skull and mandible,
6 anterior and middle dorsal vertebrae, right scapula and right humerus, incomplete
left and right ischia, left femur, nearly complete left pes and other fragmentary
bones.
