Etymology: Greek, moros, "the embodiment of impending doom"; in reference to the establishment of the Cretaceous tyrannosauroid lineage in North America.

Etymology: Latin, intrepidus, "unshaken, undaunted, brave, bold"; in reference to the hypothesized intracontinental dispersal of tyrannosaurs during this interval.

Holotype: NCSM 33392

Locality: "Stormy Theropod" NCPALEOUT05, Emery County, Utah.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Cenomanian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Middle Cretaceous.

Material: Associated right hind limb of a subadult including portions of the femur, tibia, foruth, and second metatarsals and phalanges of the fourth digit.
