Genus: Ozraptor LONG & MOLNAR, 1998
Etymology: After “Oz” colloquial usage, short for Australia, and Latin, raptor, "robber": a now popular reference to small theropod dinosaurs (CURRIE, 1997). One may therefore (metaphorically) think of Ozraptor as ‘the lizard of Oz’.

Species: subotaii LONG & MOLNAR, 1998
Etymology: After the fictional character Subotai, a swift running thief from the film “Conan the Barbarian” (1982, Universal Pictures), based on the Robert E. Howard books.

Holotype: WAM 98.1.1 (old UWA 82469)

Locality: Bringo Cutting, near Geraldton, Western Australia State, Australia.

Horizon: Colalura Sandstone.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Bajocian Stage, Lowermiddle Dogger Epoch, Middle Jurassic.

Material: Distal end of a left tibia.
