Etymology: In reference to "Lufeng County", one of the world's reichest sources
of Early Jurassic terrestrial vertebrate fossils.
Holotype: LFGT-0103
Locality: Lufeng County, Yunnan Province, China.
Horizon: Shawan Member, Lufeng Formation.

Age: Hettangian-Pliesbachian, or Sinemurian-?Toarcian Stage, Lias Epoch, Early Jurassic.
Material: Nearly complete skull and skeleton.
