Genus: Pycnonemosaurus KELLNER & CAMPOS, 2002
Etymology: Greek, pycnos, "dense," Greek, nemos, "pasture, wood" and Greek, sauros, "lizard": in allusion to Mato Grosso, where the specimen was found.

Holotype: DGM 859-R

Locality: Fazenda Roncador, Mato Grosso State, Brazil.

Horizon: Bauru Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Cretaceous.

Material: 5 incomplete teeth, parts of 7 caudal vertebrae, a right pubis missing proximal end, right tibia and distal articulation of the right fibula.
