Etymology: In honor of the Quilme (an indigenous tribe of Diaguita peoples from what is now Tucumán in northwest Argentina) and the Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Species: curriei CORIA, 2001
Etymology: In honor of Philip Currie.

Holotype: MPCA-PV-100

Locality: Salitral Ojo de Agua, 40 km south of Roca City, Rio Negro Province, Argentina.

Horizon: Allen Formation, Lower Malargue Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Allenian Tetrapoda Assemblage, Late Campanian-Early Maastrichtian Stage, Senonian Subepoch, Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Distal right femur and complete right tibia.

Possible pathology on the tibia (BAIANO, CERDA BERTOZZO & POL, 2024).
