Genus: Segnosaurus PERLE, 1979
Etymology: Latin, segnis, “slow, sluggish" and Greek, sauros, “lizard”: “slow lizard”.

Species: galbinensis PERLE, 1979
Etymology: In reference to Galbin region of the Gobi Desert, Mongolia, where it was found.

Holotype: GIN 100/80

Locality: Amtgay, SE Mongolia.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Cenomanian –Turonian Stage, Uppermiddle-uppermost Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Mandible, incomplete humerus, complete radius and ulna, separate phalanges of digits and an ungual of the fore-limb, and almost complete pelvis, incomplete right humerus, 6 sacral, 10 anterior caudal and 15 posterior caudal vertebrae, first abdominal rib and fragments of trunk ribs.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Cenomanian –Turonian Stage, Uppermiddle-uppermost Gallic Subepoch, Lower Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material:

GIN 100/82: Right femur, crural bones, metatarsus, separate phalanges and an ungual, fragments of ribs, complete ilium, the proximal part of ischium and the distal part of the pubis.

GIN 100/83: left scapulocoracoid, ulna, radius, unguals of manus, fragment of a cervical and pelvis.
