Genus: Sinornithomimus KOBAYASHI & LU, 2003
Etymology: Latin, sinae, refers to occurrence in China; Greek, ornithos, "bird" and Greek, mimus, "mimic."

Species: dongi KOBAYASHI & LU, 2003
Etymology: In honor of Professor Zhi-Ming Dong, who discovered these skeletons and made great contributions to the Mongol Highland Internatinoal Dinosaur Project.

Locality: Near Ulan Suhai, Alashanzuo Banner, 41°17’10”N, 103°52’38”W, Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongol), China.

Horizon: Ulansuhai Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Cenomanian stage?, Upper Gallic subepoch, Lowest Gulf Epoch, Late Early to Early Middle Cretaceous.

Material: A nearly complete skeleton of a subadult.
Note: Found with gastroliths.
