Etymology: "kazuo" in reference to Kazuo County, the county in which the type specimen was discovered, Western Liaoning Province, China.
Holotype: KZV-001
Locality: Dachengzi town, Kazuo County, Western Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Jiufotang Formation, Upper Jehol Group.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Barremian Stage, Lower Gallic Subepoch, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.
Material: A disarticulated skeleton including the anterior portions of skull and mandibles, 3 articulated dorsal vertebrae, several dorsal ribs, incomplete ilia, parital manual phalanges, and some other fragmentary bones.
