Genus: Spinostropheaus SERENO, WILSON & CONRAD, 2004
Etymology : Greek, spinos, "spine" and Greek, strophe, "vertebra": named for the prominent epipophyseal processes on the cervical vertebrae and its moderated body size (estimated length 4 m).

Species: gautieri (LAPPARENT, 1960) SERENO, WILSON & CONRAD, 2004
Etymology: In honor of geologist F. Gautier, who discovered the type locality.

Locality: Tedreft, Niger.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian-Albian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Upper Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Cervical, 2 dorsal and 3 caudal vertebrae, pieces of sacral, humerus, distal end of pubis, tibia, proximal end of metatarsal and phalanges.

Material:

Musee National du Niger (MNN) T1G6: Articulated axial column preserving the 3rd cervical to the anterior sacrals with complete cervical and more fragmentary dorsal ribs.
