Etymology: In honor of Albert F. de Lapparent, S.J., for his contributions to the knowledge of Saharan dinosaurs, and his generous assistance during the field season of 1966.

Locality: GAD 5, Niveau des Innocents, Gadoufaoua, Niger.

Horizon: Tegama Formation, (was El Rhaz Formation), Tegama Series.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Uppermost Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Premaxillae, portion of right maxilla and dentary.

MNHN GDF 365: Premaxilla.

MNHN GDF 357-359, 361: Dorsal vertebrae.

Note: Originally thought to belong to Spinosaurus sp, then it was referred to Baryonyx, but new material from MILNER 1996, indicate that these actually to belong to Spinosaurus sp as originally thought.
