Etymology: Latin, insperatus, "unexpected," in refernce to the unexpected discovery of the specimen.

Holotype: MCD-7073

Locality: Sant Roma d'Abella locality, Pallars Jussa, Catalonia, Spain.

Horizon: Talarn Formation, Tremp Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Latest Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian subepoch, Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: Partial right metatarsal II.
