Genus: Tianyuraptor ZHENG, XU, YOU, ZHAO & DONG, 2009
Etymology: 'Tianyu' is derived from the name of the museum that has the holotype,
and Latin, raptor, "robber."
Species: ostromi ZHENG, XU, YOU, ZHAO & DONG, 2009
Etymology: In honor of John Ostrom, who contributed greatly to the study of
dromaeosaurid fossils.
Holotype: STM1-3
Locality: Dawangzhangzi, Lingyuan, western Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Yixian Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Early Cretaceous.
Material: Nearly complete skull and nearly complete skeleton.
