Etymology: Tupi, ubirajara, "lord of the spear"; in reference to the stiffened, elongate integumentry structures associated with the specimen.

Etymology: Latin, jubatus, "maned or crested."

Holotype: SMNK PAL 29241

Locality: Region of Nova Olinda-Santana do Cariri, Ceara State, Northeast Brazil.

Horizon: Crato Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Aptian Stage, Middle Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Late Early Cretaceous.

Material: A partially articulated, but incomplete skeleton preserving a near-complete cervical series, complete dorsal series, incomplete sacrum, cervical and thoracic ribs, gastralia, shoulder girdle, forelimb and mostly complete manus with associated soft tissues including integumentary structure adn ungual sheaths.
