Etymology: In honor of Patrick and Annie Mechin, who collected the material and kindly presented the holotype to the Musee des Dinosaures, Esperaza.

Locality: La Bastide Neuve, Fox-Amphoux, Var Department, France.

Horizon: Gres a Reptiles Formation.

Material: An articulated posterior dorsal vertebra.
