Genus: Venetoraptor MÜLLER, EXCURRA, GARCIA, AGNOLIN, STOCKER, NOVAS, SOARES, KELLNER & NESBITT, 2023
Etymology: In reverence to Vale Veneto, a touristic locality within the municipality of Sao Joao do Polesine, Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, and Latin, raptor, "plunderer".

Etymology: In honors of Mrs Valserina Maria bulegon Gassen, onf of the mian people responsible for the foundation of CAPPA/UFSM.

Holotype: CAPPA/UFSM 0356

Locality: Burial Site, 29°39'34.2"S, 53°25'47.4"W, Sao Joao do Polesine, Rio Grande do sul State, Brazil.

Horizon: Santa Maria Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Carnian Stage, Early Late Triassic, Early Late Triassic.

Material: Fragmentary skull and fragmentary skeleton.
