Etymology: In reference to the Wakino, a village in northern Kyushu Island, Japan and Greek, sauros, "lizard."

Species: satoi OKAZAKI, 1992
Etymology: In honor of Mr. Masahiro Sato who discovered the specimen.

Holotype: KMNH VP 000,016

Locality: From a rock of river floor at Sengokukyo, Miyata-machi, Kurate Gun, Fukuoka Prefecture, Kyushu Island, Japan.

Horizon: Sengoku Formation, Wakino Subgroup, Kwanmon Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Neocomian Stage, Lower Early Cretaceous Epoch, Early Cretaceous.

Material: Tooth missing tip.
