Etymology: Mandrin, huali, "beautiful": referring to the beauty of the plumage
of this animal.
Holotype: ZCDM V5000 (cast at IVPP, IVPP FV 1960).
Locality: Batuyingzi, Beipiao, Liaoning Province, China.
Horizon: Yixian Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Aptain Stage, Gallic Subepoch, Late Early Cretaceous Epoch, Late Early Cretaceous.
Material: Skull, and skeleton with feather impressions
Yutyrannus huali (after XU, et. Al., 2012), Holotype: ZCDM V5000.
Paratypes:
ZCDM V5001 (cast at IVPP, IVPP FV 1961): A semi-articulated skull and skeleton.
ELDM V 1001 (cast at IVPP, IVPP FV 1962): Articulated skeleton missing tail.
