Oospecies: laiyangensis WANG, WANG, ZHAO, ZHANG, & JIANG, 2013
Etymology: In reference to the Laiyang City, where the fossil was found.

Holotype: IVPP V18544

Locality: Jingangkou, Laiyang, Shandong Province, China.

Horizon: Jingangkou Formation, Wangshi Group.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Late Cretaceous.

Material: A nearly complete symmetrical elongate ellipitical egg.
