Etymology: In reference to the district of Kachchh, Gujarat, India.

Locality: 1.5 km SE of village Viri near Anjar, District Kachchh, Gujarat Department, India.

Horizon: Drak grey splintery shale containing stringers of chert, third intertrappean level, Deccan intertrappean beds.
