Genus: Brochuchus CONRAD, JENKINS, LEHMANN, MANTHI, PEPPE, NIGHTINGALE, COSSETTE, DUNSWORTH, HARCOURT-SMITH & McNULTY, 2013
Etymology:
In honor of Christopher A. Brochu, for his tireless and unceasing scientific work on Crocodylia and its relatives, combined with Greek, souchus, "crocodile," a common suffix for crocodylomorph genera. The unusual combination and spelling are intended as an auditory and visual pun such that the 'ch' sound in Brochu takes the place of the 's' sound in 'suchos.' The name is masculine.
