Etymology: Is devoted to the French palaeoherpetologist Eric Buffetaut for his important contribution to the Upper Cretaceous archosaurian faunas.

Locality: Disused sand quarry near the village of Lano, Lano quarry, Trevino County, about 20 km SE of the City of Victoria, Basque-Cantabric Basin, Basque County, Iberian Peninsula, Spain.

Horizon: Sobrepena Formation.

Age: Uppermost Campanian-Lowermost Maastrichtian Stage, Upper Senonian subepoch, Upper Upper Gulf Epoch, Late Cretaceous.

Material: A complete left maxilla.
