Genus: Andinaspis GAGNIER, 1991
Etymology: Andin, Designates the Andes, wehre it was discovered, and aspis refers to the sheild.

Species: suarezorum GAGNIER, 1991
Etymology: In honor of Ramior Suarez Sorucco and Mario Suarez Riglos, who have contributed significantly to the recent progress of vertebrate palaeontology in Bolivia.

Holotype: GEOBOL 5011

Locality: Opposite the Tomini river, 8.5 km southeast of Morochata, Ayopaya Province, Cochabamba Department, Bolivia.

Horizon: Capinota Formation.

Biostratigraphy:

Age: Llanvirn Epoch, Lower Dyfed Subperiod, Early Ordovician.

Material: Large fragment of head sheild.
