Species: elgae BLIECK & KARATAJUTE-TALIMAA, 2001
Etymology: In honor of Dr. Elga Mark-Kurik of the Tallin Technical University,
Estonia who has worked extensively on Devonian vertebrates from the Arctic
regions, and has collected the best-preserved specimens of this new species.

Holotype: LIG 35-333
Locality: Locality 28-1, NE of Sovetskaya Bay, along a small stream near to the Al’banov Glacier (Ca. 600 m from the glacier when it was sampled), west coast of October Revolution Island, Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago, Artic.
Horizon: Severnaya Zemlya Formation, bed equivalent to the upper part of the Severnaya Semlya Formation.
Biostratigraphy:
Age: Lower Lochkovian Stage, Early Devonian Epoch, Early Devonian.
Material: A partily-articulated dorsal shield and trunk.
